The Where Are My Pieces? puzzle shows you a position from your repertoire, but instead of pieces you see only blank circles on the board. Your task is to place the correct piece on each marked square. This exercise sharpens visualization and strengthens position recall from memory.
This puzzle helps you to:
- + Build board vision by mapping pieces to exact squares from memory.
- + Improve spatial reasoning and piece–square relationships.
- + Reinforce key repertoire positions through active recall.
Use New Game to load a position from your repertoire; the board will show white and black circles on the squares that need pieces. You can Flip Board at any time to change orientation, and if you want to start over, click Clear to remove all placed pieces.
Drag pieces from the tray onto the circles to recreate the target position. Keep placing until every circle is filled, then press Check to verify your reconstruction.
After checking, each circle shows immediate feedback: a green halo means the correct piece is on the correct square, while a red halo indicates an incorrect placement. Adjust any red-marked squares and check again until the position is complete.
